Dramatic Federal Tax Code Reform Here is what the Fair Tax Act does; 1 gets rid of all federal income taxes, individual income tax, 2 gets rid of the IRS and deletes the more than 70,000 pages of horrible federal tax code currently governing federal income taxation, 3 protects social security and medicare by setting aside designated revenue for those programs, 4 replaces federal income taxation with a national retail sales tax, 5 initiates action to repeal the 16th Amendment (income tax authority). 6 dramatically reduces the power of lobbyists to put loopholes in the tax code.
