COMMUNICATIONS TO THE OFFICES OF CONGRESSMAN BUCHAHAN

It is imperative that we communicate with Mr. Buchanan the importance of his support of FairTax. We need his help as a cosponsor or H. R. 25 and as a member of the Ways and Means Committee. There is nothing more important that you can do as a citizen to advance the FairTax initiative than to participate in this most important communication project.

BELOW IS AN OUTLINE OF TWO OPTIONS YOU CAN USE IN CONTACTING HIM AND/OR HIS STAFF.

WHAT IS NEEDED IS VOLUME AND FREQUENCY OVER THE NEXT 90 DAYS

Recommendations:

Choose the communication channel(s), phone, letter or email, for which you’re most comfortable.
Set a schedule: Make one call a week, one letter a week, one email a week and/or a combination.
Repeat the process over the next few weeks.
There is no set message other than the components of the FairTax initiative that are most important to you as a FairTax supporter.
Your message can be very short, one or two lines, or as long as you choose to write.
Phone calls should be short and to the point. “My name is XXX and I support the FairTax initiative because it is the most fair of all tax reform plans and will help restore credibility with our Congressional leaders.”
FYI, most Congressional offices tally the subjects that reflect the calls, letters and emails and report the results weekly to the Washington Staff.
Above all, be courteous and respectful to the Staff that receives your communication.

What is the FairTax; What does FFTEA do?

The FairTax proposal is a comprehensive plan to replace federal income and payroll taxes, including personal, gift, estate, capital gains, alternative minimum, Social Security/Medicare, self-employment, and corporate taxes. The FairTax proposal integrates such features as a progressive national retail sales tax, dollar-for-dollar revenue replacement, and a rebate to ensure that no American pays such federal taxes up to the poverty level. Included in the FairTax Plan is the repeal of the 16th Amendment to the Constitution. The FairTax allows Americans to keep 100 percent of their paychecks (minus any state income taxes), ends corporate taxes and compliance costs hidden in the retail cost of goods and services, and fully funds the federal government while fulfilling the promise of Social Security and Medicare.

Important to note ... the FairTax is the only tax plan currently being proposed that includes the removal of the payroll tax.
