An Exciting Video Lauch - Looking Ahead

FairTax Video Invitation

Thanks in large part to your great efforts, we are proud to announce the FairTax: Fire Up Our Economic Engine video launch is off to a great start!

In less than one week of going live on YouTube, we have an impressive 22,000 views, and that is just the beginning. With 87 ‘comments,’ 518 ‘likes,’ over 400 ‘shares,’ and 51 ‘favorite’ designations, we are quite excited about the groundswell of support the video has received through YouTube alone.

These numbers do not even include Facebook or Twitter results; let me share those with you. On Facebook, the posts containing the YouTube link have garnered a total of 66 ‘comments,’ 886 ‘likes’ and 793 ‘shares.’ On Twitter, there are a total of 389 ‘tweets’ mentioning the FairTax video or sharing the link to the video. On average, each ‘tweet’ has been ReTweeted five to ten times. Neal Boortz tweeted the link and received 407 ReTweets. For those unfamiliar with social media stats, these numbers are remarkable!

All of this said, our work is far from done. As far as traditional media relations efforts go, we were happy to see that our video press release was picked up by 141 different online news websites. We have pitched 683 media members and have followed up with about 300 of those media members, but we will not stop there.  To get the media to stand up and take notice, we need to continue to push our YouTube views higher.

With AFFT’s 200,000+ activist FairTax supporters, we should easily push the numbers past 50,000 this coming week.  Our ultimate goal is to top 100,000 by month’s end.

To do that we need your continued support! Make sure you’ve gotten the word out to your immediate circles of friends, family, and colleagues.  Get them to view the video and share it with their friends and families as well.

Think of groups you can send it to who need to hear our message – church groups, associations, community groups and clubs.   It only takes 4 minutes of their time to watch the video, another second to “like” it and a minute at most to post a comment.  Let them know how much good they can accomplish by contributing that small amount of effort on behalf of FairTax.

We are so proud to have each of you represent FairTax in the community. You are the face of FairTax, and you have the power to help us reach our goal of recruiting 3,000 new supporters in all 435 congressional districts. We thank you immensely for your work in sharing this video and welcome your questions and suggestions. I believe that together we can change the course of history.

Thank-You for Sharing the Video!

We've received countless notes from excited FairTax supporters who are sharing the video with their friends. Here are some of our favorite responses!

Same Kemp - OK Guys, I have over 300 'friends' on fb. I posted this video 2 days ago and ask you to view it and repost - so far - only EIGHT of you have reposted it! UNSAT! When is the last time you complained about what is going economically in this country? We have a non-partisan, sure-fire solution and most of you are more concerned about 'who's got talent' or 'who's dancing with who' to think about the solution! Take FIVE (5) minutes out of your 'busy' facebook time to view the video and repost it - if you are not part of the solution, you are part of the problem!

Melvin Johnson - I am already helping.  My letter to the editor of the Coloradoan newspaper was published a few days ago.

Leslie I watched the video. I left a comment. I am sorry that I know so little about Facebook that I really couldn't do anything except 'like' the video. But I will forward it to people I know.

Anonymous - I watched it again for the fourth time, I love it. My 39 year old daughter cried.

Dennis SelbyDone. If we must be taxed, it should be a FairTax!

Fred & Bernadine - Yesterday the video was sent to approximately 200 people in my address book and another 100 or more from my wife's. Congratulations. The video is outstanding.

Steve Bailey - Multiplying now...

Randy Brown - I just watched the video and it is spectacular! The quality is so good, I'll have to watch it again to concentrate on the message. If this doesn't grab some new people, I don't know what will. We will get there. I will not stop believing (that means working towards it). God bless, you've done much better than good.

The FairTax in the News

Americans for Fair Taxation® Launches Summer Outcry to Young Voters - The Sacramento Bee

Alarmed by recent studies showing that the median net worth for young households is down 68 percent from a quarter century ago, combined with an unprecedented 1.7 million American young people ages 18-29 who have been out of work for more than a year (the highest unemployment for that age group since World War II), Americans for Fair Taxation® (AFFT) today launched a renewed campaign to recruit 3,000 new FairTax® supporters in each of 435 Congressional districts.

Said Leo Linbeck, Jr., co-founder and CEO of AFFT, "Adding 1.3 million new FairTax activists will give expression to legions of frustrated and desperate taxpayers whose voice has been lost to Washington's special interest cartel."

Kicking off this campaign, AFFT unveiled its new video, "FairTax: Fire Up Our Economic Engine," chronicling the saga of an unemployed college graduate, who like so many of his peers, has been forced to move back into his parents' home - unemployed and defeated by the lack of job prospects.   The video is available for viewing on YouTube and at

The Plan Chris Edwards will Co-sponsor HR 25 - The Guardian Express

The Fair Tax Act HR 25 in the House and S.13 in the Senate will create jobs and expand our economy. This one Act will affect your life in a very positive manner. The bottom line is that it repeals the 16th Amendment and that means no income tax.  That is why you get the Gross Pay instead of the Net Pay.

When there is no longer taxing of income, manufacturing will come back to the USA and the money parked off-shore will come back and be invested in businesses and that means more jobs. That is why Unemployment drops to 4%. People who get jobs need to live somewhere so they buy homes. That is why home values increase. You pay 4 people’s income tax when you buy a new product today. The manufacturer needs to make a profit so in order to earn a one dollar profit, they must charge $1.55 because .55 goes to the feds as income tax. The same thing happens with the distributor, wholesaler, and retailer…
