A Horrible Jobs Report - An Easy Solution
We
know it, but do our fellow Americans, the mainstream media, our friends,
neighbors, and elected officials?
Do
they know that our current Federal Income Tax Code stymies business growth and
polarizes Americans into haves and have-nots? Do they know the stagnating
effect that 77,000 pages of tax code riddled with special interest loopholes,
contradictions and inequities is having on America’s young workers – the future
leaders of U.S. business and trade?
The economic effects of the tax code are
not just trivial talking points; they are relevant facts and vital truths every
American needs to know.
Take
for example the Bureau of Labor Statistics’ (BLS) August 2012 Jobs Report released just
last week; it is abysmally disappointing. The economy created 96,000 jobs
instead of the 250,000 forecast for the month. The unemployment number of 8.1% seems
better than the 8.3% in July, but don’t be fooled. The reality is, that for
every one person who found a job in August four more (378,000 in all) dropped
out of the job market.
The
unemployment rate dropped because more people simply quit looking for work –
they gave up! To make matters worse, hourly pay fell, manufacturing cut the most
jobs in two years, and the number of people in the work force dropped to its
lowest level in 31 years.
Some
in the media, as well as certain leaders from both parties, patronize the
American people by telling them this is just a cyclical economic phenomena;
admonishing them to hang in there, we will bounce back. But you and I know what
they are really saying is we want the revolving door, special interest tax code
trading floor to continue unabated. That’s a tidy solution for Congress but tinkering
with the status quo will only serve to further rob America of jobs and economic
prosperity.
I want
a real solution. I want a solution that
brings jobs back to America and puts Americans back to work. That’s why it is
imperative that you help us educate everyone in your sphere of influence about
the FairTax® Plan. These people need to know how and why the FairTax will
create the kind of economic growth that will create enough jobs to pull the
long term unemployed back into the workforce.
Consider sharing the recent jobs report with your
friends, neighbors and elected officials and include a link to www.FairTax.org. Let them know
why you believe the FairTax is the only solution to our ailing economy. Tell your elected officials that you will
only support candidates who have the courage to stand for jobs and the economy,
who are willing to stand for the FairTax.
Let
your fellow Americans know that the
FairTax is the only tax replacement plan that can and will jump-start the economy. Let them know that FairTaxers from coast to
coast want a simple, fair and transparent national consumption tax that taxes
people on what they spend, not what they earn.
You
have a powerful weapon to support your argument with the FairTax video. This video
dramatically underscores the plight of today’s young Americans, ages 18-29, who
are unable to find work, even with college degrees. This moving production is
clearly resonating with the unemployed and underemployed. In two short months it has been viewed by nearly
65,000 individuals and has resulted in the FairTax becoming a major topic of
discussion among young and old alike.
Let’s
make sure that before Election Day, every American sees the FairTax video and
knows about the FairTax Plan.
