"America was built on courage, on imagination and an unbeatable determination to do the job at hand." - Harry S. Truman
Your Plan For Independence
Texas will celebrate 177 years of Independence. In 1836, General Sam Houston
and his modest volunteer army surprised and defeated General Santa Anna and his
Mexican army at the Battle of San Jacinto. Ten years later, Texas voluntarily entered the
United States after a majority vote of the people.
On that day in 1836, by most accounts General Houston’s army was
outmanned and outgunned. When the final
battle commenced mid afternoon, Houston’s army appeared weary and ragged from
over a month in the field. But their
element of surprise, combined with clean and well-oiled rifles created a force
that General Santa Ana’s formidable army could not overcome.
Some people believe the FairTax® is weary and ragged and if they just
wait us out we will go away. I have news for them. We’re not weary, we’re not ragged and we’re not going away. In
fact, we’ve just begun to fight!
We are not intimidated by special interests. We do not fear bullies,
and those who seek to water down the fundamental tenants of the FairTax Plan do
not sway us.
Don’t be fooled by the current “tax reform” rhetoric currently coming
out of Capitol Hill. It is nothing more than window dressing for the continued
proliferation of special interests and their treasure chest of exemptions and
loopholes, so lush now that Washington, D.C. has become America’s newest “Boomtown.”
is only one tax replacement plan created by the people, for people and about
the people. It is the FairTax Plan.
If you are not actively
participating in advancing the FairTax Plan with your Congressional delegation
and in your community, we encourage you to take action today.
Texas is a state today because General Houston, his volunteer army and
the then-people of Texas committed themselves and everything they had to
winning their independence from foreign domination.
Will you make this kind of commitment to the FairTax? Will you develop
a plan for giving of your time, talent and financial resources? If you will,
send me your plan and we will publish 2 or 3 of the best ones we receive in an
upcoming issue of FairTax Friday! You can send your plan to me at: email@example.com
