Giving Your Time

Most often when people hear the word "give," they immediately think of financial contributions. Although passing initiatives such as the FairTax does cost money, the other key element needed for success is an active grassroots membership. Throwing money at tax reform won't get the FairTax passed - impassioned supporters will!

Ways to give your time:

Business professionals can parlay networking skills into forming business coalitions and seeking the support of your industry affiliations.

One of the most vital things you can do is spread the word about the FairTax, and one of the best ways to do that is through a meeting or event.

  • A meeting can be something informal held at your home or office, where you invite friends, neighbors or co-workers to learn about the alternatives to the current tax system.
  • A meeting can be more formal when held in conjunction with local business organizations, chambers of commerce outreach and civic clubs.

Setting up a FairTax table at events, whether organized by you or others, can be another effective way to get the FairTax message out. These may be a state or county fair, sporting event, dog show, art festival or anywhere there are a lot of people.

Our grassroots volunteers offer these tips for those still new and nervous about these activities.
