Calling all writers!

We are looking for well-written commentaries about the problems of the current tax system and how the FairTax will resolve them. Perhaps you have written a letter to the editor of your local paper outlining your thoughts on taxation and the FairTax, or perhaps you have researched how the FairTax impacts you personally. We want to get your opinions and commentaries as they relate to specific topics in your life, whether you're a small business owner, a farmer or rancher, an industrial worker, an employee of a large corporation, or a stay-at-home parent (to name just a few possibilities).

We want to get some different perspectives represented here on the site, and we want to offer a layperson's view of the FairTax in addition to the more scholarly works found here. Many of our supporters have daily discussions about the features and benefits of the FairTax, and we offer you this opportunity to set some of those thoughts down in writing so we may share them with other FairTax supporters.

We also invite you to actively participate in the defense of the FairTax when inaccuracies are printed or posted. For instance, during last fall's election cycle, several candidates said things about the FairTax that were patently wrong, and we featured those and the rebuttals to them in our "They Said WHAT?!" section. You are welcome to draft a rebuttal to any false statements, and send those in to our Web Editor (webeditor@fairtax.org). Please provide the original work that you are rebutting, as we are unable to publish rebuttals without substantive proof of the opposing statement.

We look forward to hearing from you. Please put something in the subject line of your e-mail that lets us know if you are sending a commentary or a rebuttal.
